Many businesses create an effective competitive edge within the markets that they serve and grow rapidly as a consequence.  Rapid growth raises particular issues for businesses that are often less problematic for those with more modest growth rates.  In short, the management of rapid growth can raise problems and make it difficult to sustain in the medium and long term.  Once achieved, the maintenance of rapid business growth requires particular managerial skills to run alongside the retention of competitive advantage in the marketplace. 

The development of these skills and the creativity, opportunity recognition and innovation needed to sustain rapid business growth require higher level competences than may be provided through a conventional management training program and will rely upon high level inputs developed through research and business experience in practice.  It is for this reason that the HighGrowth East Midlands Support Program has been designed in collaboration with the Nottingham University Business School.
