Network
In addition to bespoke individual support, HighGrowth East Midlands will also provide participants from both programmes the chance to be part of an elite network of like-minded businesses with access to a variety of business support activities. These will range from bi-monthly networking events to international learning journeys and an annual awards event promoting East Midlands businesses to a wider audience.
The network will provide added value opportunities for members to learn from their peers and a valuable complement to the core elements of the High Growth and Growth Readiness programmes.
Bi-monthly networking events
These events are an opportunity for the HighGrowth East Midlands members to hear from industry experts on best practice and from companies that have successfully addressed their business challenges. They will highlight the benefits of business support and are an opportunity to network with other businesses facing the similar issues.
International learning journeys
These international management development events will be held annually and will help participating members of the network understand how integrating with the European and global economies provides both opportunities and a greater understanding of the threats.
It is evident that businesses that operate internationally tend to have higher rates of productivity and innovation compares to those who only deal in the domestic market. High growth businesses in particular will be increasingly experiencing competition from overseas and in response should recognise the opposite is true – that there are opportunities in a global economy that is expected to grow by 40% by 2015.
The international missions are an effective way for businesses to build the awareness and capacity to access global markets. The focus will be on developing business skills in areas such as international sales and marketing, exporting, strategic partnerships, language and culture.
Annual Awards
The annual awards event will highlight the success of HighGrowth East Midlands companies by showcasing those companies who have achieved high revenue growth over a set period of time. The awards will be results driven, demonstrating sound management practices and marketplace vision.
The awards event will be a celebratory occasion, with guest speakers in addition to testimonials and advocates reflecting on the successes and benefits of the programme. The awards will be held at a prestigious location in the region and will attract extensive media coverage to maximise the PR opportunities for the HighGrowth East Midlands members.
